Coach Ward

Chris Ward graduated from Bradenton S.E. High School in Bradenton, Florida. Coach Ward played his college ball at Central Florida Community College, Texas Christian University and St. Leo College. He earned an undergraduate degree in Human Services and a Master’s degree in Human Services with a concentration in Youth Development through Sports from Springfield College in Massachusetts. As a professional basketball player for seven years, he was able to tour the world, playing for eight different countries. He wants young athletes to have the same opportunities. “Sports can take you anywhere you want to go,” he says. “It’s important for teens to be exposed to different environments and sports can do it, if they remain dedicated…and it’s my job to keep them inspired.” Chris spent ten years at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida where he conducted workouts for college Basketball players preparing them for the NBA pre-draft, to include Jared Jefferies (2002, 11th overall pick of the Wizards) and Renaldo Balkman, (2006 first round draft pick of the Knicks). He trained several other NBA/European players and young student-athletes during off-season workouts. Chris has had several basketball clinics and camps across the world catering to skill development among all ages. Chris also works with The Skills Center of Tampa, a non-profit organization helping children and teens develop life skills through sports.
